Bye Bye Bottle

Parker learning to drink from a sippy cup a couple months ago.

I relieze what I am about to say does not always end up being so easy. Two years ago, it was Peyton's turn to drop the bottle and he had many temper trantrums that week. I had been dreading when it would be Parker's turn. However, things were totally different this time around...

Parker has not had a bottle in three days and acts like nothing ever went missing from his life. I had been weaning him slowly away from formula and the bottle for awhile. We were down to two bottles a day, morning and night with whole milk, not formula. Then all the sudden he started refusing his bedtime bottle. He would push it away from his face and reach for his paci and night-night (aka: blanket). So since that night we have been bottle free at our house. No more washing them, packing it in the diaper bag or trying to heat it while on the go. We are offically a sippy cup only household. PTL!

Ok, I have a related dilemma...C He's never liked a bottle, so we went straight to a cup. He will drink water any time. (I haven't given him juice yet...sort of afraid he'll only want juice. Ha!)

The problem is that he doesn't want to drink milk. At all.

Any ideas? Suggestions?

I love when transitions are easy! So glad you don't have to tote bottles around anymore!

Super Chikk, we went threw that exact same thing with Peyton. And I hate to say it, but still to this day he will not drink milk, not even with chocolate in it. His doctor said just give him a vitiam a day and food with dairy products and he will be fine. I hate milk so maybe he got that from me. Peyton will only drink apple juice (I put it 1/2 full with water so he doesn't drink so much juice), sweet tea from a resturant, and water. He's so picky. I never tried putting half formula, half milk and give it to him that way. Meredith did that with Reese and I think it worked for her that way. Now she is only on whole milk in her cup. You might ask her. Sorry I'm not much help in that area. Good luck.

We are a little behind you, but we got rid of them last week. What a relief! I had been trying for a few months and I couldn't get passed them so one day I was frustrated and just took them all and packed them away! Courtney didn't care, I did!
